So what classical (or classical-themed) plays have been put on recently? I'm glad you asked: I have put together a web page of recent, now-running, or upcoming plays--either the Classics themselves, or related material (adaptations, modern plays set in the ancient world, etc.), and the first version is now available: Greece and Rome on Stage.
Yes, the idea is to keep it up-to-date--but we'll see if I actually have time for that. As it is now, it is a snapshot of relevant plays from March 2005. So far, the interesting things to note: no Terence or Seneca, lots of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Feel free to drop me a line if you see gaps--and I'm sure there are gaps, especially in the "Other Modern Representations" genre...
[UPDATE: There is some overlap here with the "Performances" bulletin board now available over at Classics Central--but the format and effect of my page is quite different--and (assuming I can continue with it) the result will be a more organized look at what plays have been presented where, so: use both!]
