Toni Momiroski wrote a column recently for the Asia Times (also available at TM's web journal), in which he claims that Plato is useful for diagnosing the problems with current democracy and suggesting solutions...I'm not sure that I understand the connection he is attempting to make, unless he is indeed suggesting "rule by highly educated experts who conduct a dictatorship of reason."
The most interesting thing about Plato on democracy is that he was so correct about all the stages leading up to democracy. from animal rights to the NOW crowd.
We are now in the final phase of democracy now. It's about to turn ugly! We saw what happened in Germany and also in Argentina.
God help us. We are also the two horned beast of Revelation (last book of the Bible) I guess it hasn't occured to most people, that there are far more advanced civilizations in the universe. Some of which tried to give us humans a hand up (they knew the earth was a circle and that it hung on nothing) They gave us the sanitation laws and inter-personal laws and we were so grateful we murdered them.
